From 2039, the architecture firm Sn\u00f8hetta<\/a><\/span> will only design carbon-negative buildings. After the Powerhouse project on Bratt\u00f8rkaia in Trondheim, Sn\u00f8hetta aims to make all of their projects emission-friendly. This means that the buildings designed by the firm will generate more energy than they use during their lifetime, according to the architecture and design magazine Dezeen.<\/p>\n

“It’s urgent” <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sn\u00f8hetta plans to make this shift within the next 20 years. Kjetil Tr\u00e6dal Thorsen, a partner in Sn\u00f8hetta, told the magazine that the firm is taking these measures because it is urgent to respond to climate change.<\/p>\n

Following the success of Powerhouse <\/strong><\/h2>\n

“In the next ten years, Sn\u00f8hetta will focus on making all design-level projects in our project portfolio carbon-neutral. Within the next twenty years, we will ensure that all of our realized buildings are carbon-neutral,” says Thorsen to Dezeen. Sn\u00f8hetta declares this following the success of the Powerhouse project on Bratt\u00f8rkaia in Trondheim, which is designed to be carbon-negative for the 60 years that the building is planned to stand. Powerhouse Telemark<\/a><\/span> was completed in 2020 and achieved BREEAM Outstanding certification.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
